It's Live!! Cover Reveal: Inkmistress by Audrey Coulthurst + Giveaway (Intl)
Hi, YABCers!
Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for INKMISTRESS by Audrey Coulthurst, releasing March 6, 2018 from Balzer + Bray. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Audrey:
Hi YABC readers! Welcome to the exclusive cover reveal for my second book, INKMISTRESS! Given that I often joked this book should be titled OF BISEXUALITY AND BLOODSHED, the team at Balzer + Bray could not have done a more fantastic job with the artwork and design. INKMISTRESS is a prequel of sorts to OF FIRE AND STARS, and takes place in a different kingdom with a new cast of characters. I can't wait to see what you all think of the cover and Asra's story. Don't forget to enter the ARC giveaway below if you'd like to read INKMISTRESS early!

INKMISTRESS
ISBN: 978-0062433282
Asra is a demigod with a dangerous gift: the ability to dictate the future by writing with her blood. To keep her power secret, she leads a quiet life as a healer on a remote mountain, content to help the people in her care and spend time with Ina, the mortal girl she loves.
But Asra’s peaceful life is upended when bandits threaten Ina’s village and the king does nothing to help. Desperate to protect her people, Ina begs Asra for assistance in finding her manifest—the animal she’ll be able to change into as her rite of passage to adulthood. Asra uses her blood magic to help Ina, but her spell goes horribly wrong and the bandits destroy the village, killing Ina’s family.
Unaware that Asra is at fault, Ina swears revenge on the king and takes a savage dragon as her manifest. To stop her, Asra must embark on a journey across the kingdom, becoming a player in lethal games of power among assassins, gods, and even the king himself. Most frightening of all, she discovers the dark secrets of her own mysterious history—and the terrible, powerful legacy she carries in her blood.
A sweeping and romantic fantasy full of dangerous magic and dark choices—from the author of Of Fire and Stars.

The cover and the synopsis make it look/sound as if this might be an interesting fantasy!
I've read OF FIRE AND STARS and oh gosh I am so, so excited for this book. Just like the debut novel, this one has a stunning cover! The synopsis seems very intriguing as well.
Amazing story concept - the synopsis made me immediately put this on my wishlist. I love the cover, with its deep, rich colors.
I love this cover because it ties in well with the Of Fire and Stars artwork. It will make a great collection if they all have the same themes/art and I look forward to having them all!
Asra's story sounds interesting but I mostly wonder if characters from the other story will appear!
Love the synopsis and the fact that it's another fantasy book with a same-sex relationship. Still don't much of those. Already pre-ordered
SO HYPE! Also a prequel of sorts to OFAS??? I'm listening...HARD. OFAS healed something broken in my soul, and I can't wait to see what this one has in store.
I love the cover, and it sounds like a great read!
I'm so excited about this book! I think the cover design is beautiful, it will look great with Of Fire and Stars but still also stands on its own. The deep red colours in the cover are just gorgeous.
As for the synopsis, as soon as I read about writing history in blood as a form of magic in Of Fire and Stars I wanted to know more about it, so I'm so happy to see that this is what Inkmistress focuses on! I can't wait to get to know the characters in this book more and see how the story unfolds. OFAS was everything I have ever wanted in a fantasy novel (or in any novel really, thank you so much for letting girls who like girls be happy together, and for representing minorities the way I always wish authors would, and I could go on but I probably shouldn't here). I am so so so eager to read as much about the world it's set in as possible. It's gonna be so hard to wait to read this!
I love this cover. And the synopsis sounds so cool!!
I LOVE the sound of this, the premise is incredible- and the cover fits so perfectly with it, while still being quite pretty!
