But as the pressure to be Mickey Catalan heightens, her need increases, and it becomes less about pain and more about want, something that could send her spiraling out of control.

I absolutely LOVE this cover! It tells a whole story in its own right. The synopsis is fantastic as well. Sounds like the book has a lot of depth and emotion. I would love to read this one ASAP! ?

The last few books from Mindy have been hard-hitting, addressing rape and mental illness, and now this one will be taking on another hard subject, addiction. Having wrestled with pain and having to take medication for chronic illness, I can’t wait to read what Mindy does with this difficult issue, and I know this book will be a good one; her writing is getting better and better!
The cover design is amazing; it does indeed make me think of how painkillers make you fade away, but also how everything ‘disappears into the smoke’...it gets blurry and hard to see when you’re enveloped in that fog.
I absolutely can not wait for ‘Heroine’.
