It's live!! Cover Reveal: Down With The Shine by Kate Karyus Quinn + Giveaway (US Only)

Happy Tuesday, YABCers!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for DOWN WITH THE SHINE by Kate Karyus Quinn, releasing April 26, 2016 from HarperTeen. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Kate:

Hi YABC! I am so excited to share the cover for DOWN WITH THE SHINE with all of you!

There is nothing like seeing your book cover for the first time.

To see the font chosen for the title that you stole from a song (Yes, I have a habit of doing this. Notice I did not call it a bad habit. And for those wondering this title came from an Avett Brothers song).

To see the characters or objects from your book brought to life (in this case a mason jar of moonshine).

And finally to see my very own name at the top! (Egotistical, I know, but still... SQUEEE!!)

It's a terrible idea to pet your computer screen (fingerprints ALL OVER that never completely
wipe clean), but when that new cover arrives, I can never resist doing so. I'm not even gonna get into the drool on the keyboard problems. So please when you scroll down, resist the urge to stroke your own computer screen... it'll be difficult so sit on your hands if you have to, because really the smudges are just not worth it.

About the Book

There's a reason they say "be careful what you wish for." Just ask the girl who wished to be thinner and ended up smaller than Thumbelina, or the boy who asked for "balls of steel" and got them-literally. And never wish for your party to go on forever. Not unless you want your guests to be struck down by debilitating pain if they try to leave.

These are things Lennie only learns when it's too late-after she brings some of her uncles' moonshine to a party and toasts to dozens of wishes, including a big wish of her own: to bring back her best friend, Dylan, who was abducted and murdered six months ago.

Lennie didn't mean to cause so much chaos. She always thought her uncles' moonshine toast was just a tradition. And when they talked about carrying on their "important family legacy," she thought they meant good old-fashioned bootlegging.

As it turns out, they meant granting wishes. And Lennie has just granted more in one night than her uncles would grant in a year.

Now she has to find a way to undo the damage. But once granted, a wish can't be unmade...

The cover's gorgeous, and the synopsis sounds interesting as well. I'm wondering if the "moonshine" is the alcoholic type or actual moonshine somehow made liquid. I guess I'll have to read the book to find out!

I love the cover so much that words cannot explain how amazing it is! And that synopsis definitely seals the deal--this book has now been added to my TBR list.
