Hello YABC community! Welcome to the exclusive cover reveal for COLOR BLIND! I’m so excited to share the cover for my debut novel,

COLOR BLIND. The stormy artwork by Stephanie Hannus beautifully captures the chaos that awaits April in New Orleans after the death of her father. I am so grateful to everyone at Merit Press and F+W Media; it takes a village to get a book published. Thank you all! To learn more about my book, see below.

About the Book

April is alone in the world. When she was only a baby, her teenage mother took off and now, unbelievably, her dad has died. Nobody’s left to take April in except her mom’s sister, a free spirit who’s a chef in New Orleans–and someone who April’s never met. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, April is suddenly supposed to navigate a city that feels just like she feels, fighting back from impossibly bad breaks. But it’s Miles, a bayou boy, who really brings April into the heart of the Big Easy. He takes her to the cemetery where nineteenth-century voodoo queen Marie Laveau is buried, and there, April gets a shocking clue about her own past. Once she has a piece of the puzzle, she knows she will never give up. What she doesn’t know is that finding out the truth about her past and the key to her future could cost her everything–maybe even her life.

The cover is beautiful, a little mysterious and brooding, like there’s something darker underneath. The synopsis shows that the story might be an adventure, or looking into oneself.

This plot sounds so unique, but it has key elements that always draw my interest (e.g. mysteries in the past). I am all in for this one! 😉 Cheers, Kara S

I’ve never been to NOLA, and I’m interested in reading this book since that’s the setting. The cover has a vague sense of darkness, with the blended colors.

This cover is GORGEOUS! I’m pretty picky about covers, but I’d pick this off a bookshelf in a heartbeat! The synopsis is perfectly vague and piques my interest!

I love, love, love this cover! I judge books by their covers, and I would totally pick this one.

I agree, the cover is very striking and makes me curious as to what the book is about. I also enjoy books set in NOLA (my favorite being Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys). I’m curious to see what the title has to do with the story. Especially since girls aren’t normally color blind.

I’m really interested to see what her connection is to voodoo and the setting could not be better! I really like the cover an I wonder if the darkness overtaking the light has some meaning for the story.

A spooky cemetery, a nineteenth-century voodoo queen, and mysterious secrets that could turn dangerous… Now THIS sounds interesting! I’m not sure how the cover ties in with the story…but I can’t wait to find out!

the setting of this book alone makes me want to read it. Naturally, since I love purple, I love the colors of the cover, but I’m not sure how this cover fits the book yet.
