It's Live!! Cover Reveal: This Tiny Perfect World by Lauren Gibaldi + Giveaway (US/Canada)
Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THIS TINY PERFECT WORLD by Lauren Gibaldi, releasing February 27, 2018 from Harper Teen. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Lauren:
Hello YABC readers! Here's the exclusive cover reveal for my third young adult novel, THIS TINY PERFECT WORLD. I'll be honest and say I had zero clue what kind of cover I'd get. It's a theatre story, but it's also a growing up story. It's a finding yourself story. It's about going for what you want, not what's easy and expected. So when asked for ideas, I said "um, make it awesome," which isn't helpful at all. I added descriptions of the theatre, the play Penny is in ("The Glass Menagerie"), and where she lives (Christmas, FL), which plays a central part. Christmas isn't Santa and holly jolly, it's more rural and has a lot of gators. In fact, it's home to the largest fake gator. Really!
Michelle Taormina (https://www.michelletaormina.com) designed it, with the best vision possible. When I was told Dmitriy Podessto Pogorelov (http://www.podessto.com) would be illustrating it, I was beyond thrilled. His work is stunning. I was given an early sketch, which I instantly fell in love with. And then when I saw the final product with the font and title and spacing? I couldn't contain my excitement. It's so different than my other covers. It's so gorgeous. And it so beautifully represents the story.
You see, Penny lived in a black and white world, but suddenly it's brought to life. He got that in his illustration with the bursts of color. He got her confusion, her bangs, the importance of the unicorn, the Florida flowers. My designer and artist got the story. And I just adore this cover so much. I'm so thankful for what they created.

THIS TINY PERFECT WORLD
Penny loves her small-town Florida life—including her boyfriend, Logan, whom everyone expects her to marry. And when she lands a scholarship to the prestigious theater camp of her dreams to explore her love of acting, it’s the beginning of a summer that will change her life. But when she arrives at camp, Penny is thrust into a world of competition and self doubt. And as she meets new friends, including Chase, a talented young actor with big-city dreams, she begins to realize that her own dreams may be bigger than she ever imagined. Lauren Gibaldi tells the story of a transformative summer for a girl who discovers just how wide the world really is and that maybe the life everyone expects her to lead may not be the one she was meant to have.

This cover is so so so beautiful! It intrigued me enough to look up the book and here I am. I really want to read about Penny's journey on really discovering herself as she seems to be stuck in this bubble.
I love, love, love the pretty cover! The story sounds like a good one too, kind of a coming of age tale set at theater camp. I didn't even know there was such a thing!
