YABC:  What gave you the inspiration to write this book?

I chose to tell my own version of Beauty and the Beast. It was always my favorite Disney fairytale--that library!!--and I wanted to put my own spin on it.

YABC:  Who is your favorite character in the book?

Carlynn. She's stronger than she thinks, and has a selfless heart that easily opens to others.

YABC:  Which came first, the title or the novel?

The novel came first. A line of dialogue in the novel provided the title.

YABC:  Do you have a favorite writing snack?

Coffee. Hot, iced, or frozen. It's an addiction I can't kick.

YABC:  Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you've learned as a writer from then to now?

Write the story the way YOU want it told. Otherwise, you'll never be truly happy with the book.

YABC:  What do you like most about the cover of the book?

What’s on your TBR pile? All of my fellow author's fairytale offerings in Enchanted Kingdoms! I can't wait to dive into them. Besides that, I have Once Upon a Fairytale Night (another fairytale retelling collection by various authors) and The Broken Daughter by Aimee Shaye queued up on my kindle.

YABC:  Which part of the writing process do you enjoy more: Drafting or Revising?

Drafting, for sure. Revising is a necessary evil that I put off as long as I can.

YABC:  What would you say is your superpower?

Is there an organization or cause that is close to your heart? Puzzle Peace, the charity that 100% of proceeds from Enchanted KIngdoms will go to. The people there work tirelessly to help children with Autism live their best lives, and I feel it's important to help as much as we can.
