About the Book

At the dawn of time, there were 13 Houses in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now only 12 remain….

Rhoma Grace is a 16-year-old student from House Cancer with an unusual way of reading the stars. While her classmates use measurements to make accurate astrological predictions, Rho can’t solve for ‘x’ to save her life—so instead, she looks up at the night sky and makes up stories.

When a violent blast strikes the moons of Cancer, sending its ocean planet off-kilter and killing thousands of citizens—including its beloved Guardian—Rho is more surprised than anyone when she is named the House’s new leader. But, a true Cancrian who loves her home fiercely and will protect her people no matter what, Rho accepts.

Then, when more Houses fall victim to freak weather catastrophes, Rho starts seeing a pattern in the stars. She suspects Ophiuchus—the exiled 13th Guardian of Zodiac legend—has returned to exact his revenge across the Galaxy. Now Rho—along with Hysan Dax, a young envoy from House Libra, and Mathias, her guide and a member of her Royal Guard—must travel through the Zodiac to warn the other Guardians.

But who will believe anything this young novice says? Whom can Rho trust in a universe defined by differences? And how can she convince twelve worlds to unite as one Zodiac?

The cover of this story is just beautiful. There is no way other than that to explain this beautiful, pretty, and colorful book 🙂 The synopsis of this book makes me intrigued about this book~

  2. Alyssa says:

The cover is really nice. Quite colorful cause when you look at the sky it will always be dark blue (see other books with a night sky on it) especially since it involves the stars. The cover is also starting to make out the story itself. In the title, we can already see crabs, meaning Cancer. Thus, after reading the synopsis, makes us think that it all starts with the zodiac sign Cancer. I’m not really sure what the other sign is at the bottom of the title, so it’s probably the sign of the thirteenth zodiac (please correct me if i am wrong), which really depicts the story. As for the synopsis, it’s really cool to have another weird one as the main character. It’s definitely the uniqueness about the character that makes the story interesting. The synopsis is also making me wonder about the flow of the story. Is it going to be fantasy? Is it going to have a Sci-fi feel? Does it have any action and fighting? But for now, I do know that there is going to be romance. One, is because YA books have it all the time, and two, we got the gist from the synopsis about a boy from Libra. Makes me wonder if this boy might be just a friend or something more. All of this is definitely making me excited!

I literally picked this book because I was expecting something that dealt with the celestial beings or gods and it did. The cover is very bright and I like how they have two of the celestial signs on the cover. The synopsis was great. I loved reading it and was quite upset when it was already over! I want to read more and get even more information on the relationship between the boy from a different house and Kho. I enjoy these types of fantasy books containing a girl with unique personality.
