About the Book
Dane Washington doesn’t think he’s a bully. Some guys just need to be put in their place. But Twain High doesn’t see it that way, and Dane is on the brink of getting kicked out of school – until the boy with Down Syndrome moves in across the street.
Billy D. has the power to keep Dane out of trouble, and he’ll do it for a price. Dane has to help Billy D. find his missing dad.
But Billy’s only clue is an atlas full of riddles and towns that don’t appear on most maps. As the boys unravel the clues and get closer to finding Billy’s dad, Dane realizes the biggest riddle of all may be the one Billy D. is keeping to himself.

About the Author
Erin writes facts by day and fiction by night. As a journalist, she is inspired by current events and real-world issues and uses her writing to explore how those issues impact teenagers.
She is an only child, so she spent a lot of time entertaining herself as a kid. This required her to rely heavily on her own imagination, which is probably why she became a writer.
Erin grew up in the cornfields of northern Illinois, along the Mississippi River in one of the few places it flows east to west. She now lives in the sunshine of Arizona and will forever be torn between her love of rivers and her love of the desert.

Yes I have met someone who has completely changed the way I see the world. I remember when she first moved into our school district. She was from Canada and we didn’t have any classes together. I thought she was really popular and stuck up because we never talked. Now two years later we are best friends. Meeting her has changed my world for the better. She is nice to everyone. She talks to the students who are disabled/have special needs, she always says good morning to everyone and she talks to the non popular people. She is so kind and she’s taught me to be kind and appreciate everyone and even though she’s Muslim she’s proven to me that not all Mulsim’s are bad. She always encourages me and wants me to become better. I am so happy that we are now best friends.

Yes, I have. In 2014 I met my cousin. Before I met him, I thought that I was alone in this world, and no one cared. But when I met him, he changed my view on the world. He convinced me that I’m not the only one, and he was right, because I found out that he’s been through the same thing I was going through on a day-to-day basis. I admired his strength, and how he stayed passionate throughout. We have so much similarities, and I loved hanging out with him, because he would make me feel comfortable. I was glad that he was there for me like no one else, and because of him I know what the world is really like. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be as brave, strong, and confident as I was before. I owe all my thanks to my cousin, and to this day, though we are both busy in our own lives, and barely have time to talk, I remember him and everything he has taught me. I can’t imagine how my life would have been if I hadn’t met him.
Yes, my daughter Sara!

no
yes, when I went to summer camp two years ago my roommate changed my life because she taught me that I could live with someone without making them want to scream at me every day which was what I had thought growing up with my mother.
