Featured Review: Emerge: The Assignment: An Immortals of Indriell Novella by Melissa A. Craven!
About This Book:
She has devoted her life to training with the elite Immortals of Soma. For nearly a decade, Tessa St. James has sacrificed her life with her family to live, train and work behind the safety of Sterling Tower, waiting for the day when she will receive her first assignment. With Soma at her back, her days of working the Amrita circuit are numbered. As soon as her trainer deems her ready for an assignment, Tess will be one step closer to a world-class career within the Soma agency. When a casual flirtation at an anonymous Amrita event becomes not so anonymous, Tess is left with images of Dean McBrien to haunt her when she returns to life at Sterling Tower where nothing is as it seems. For the first time Tessa questions the world she lives in and is no longer able to look the other way when Soma’s actions don’t add up. What will happen when Tessa finally realizes her position at Soma isn’t all she dreamed it would be?

Great Novella!
A great side story for anyone following this series.
The story:
Tessa is a fighter, but she believes she is a free fighter. She works for an organization she thinks helps people train after their awakenings. Eventually, she hopes they'll allow her to stop fighting and send her on assignment to use her gift to better the world.
When finally gets her wish, she's sent with the mysterious Dean, to the jungles of African. Instead of using her powers for good, she quickly learns her new employers only want to exploit her and she isn't as free as she thought she was. But there's a great plan at work here... one no one bothered to tell her about.
What I loved:
The book is short yet managed to pack so much emotion into Tessa's journey from faithful follower to rebel. She learns who to trust gradually and the relationship between her and Dean never once feels rushed. She’s an extremely authentic character.
Finally Verdict:
A great story for both those already in love with the Emerge series and those getting their first taste of Melissa Craven’s exciting world.
