Cover Reveal: HEXED by Michelle Krys + Giveaway (International)

Hey YABCers!

Been a busy summer so far, and we haven't had a cover reveal in a while. I thought I should remedy that today with the help of Michelle Krys and her book HEXED.

Sound good?

Good.

Before we get to the reveal, here's a message from Michelle:

Hi there, lovely YABC readers! I’m so beyond thrilled to finally reveal the cover of my debut novel HEXED.

I fell out of my chair from excitement when this cover landed in my inbox (and I don’t mean that figuratively—I actually fell out of a chair). Indie’s curls! The light in her hair! The lush background! It’s the cover I always dreamed of yet never knew existed until the moment I saw it. The amazing design team at Delacorte (shout out Alison Impey!) managed to perfectly capture the Indie I always pictured in my head, and the sexy, edgy, magical feel of the book without somehow probing into the inner workings of my mind. If it were in my power, Alison would get a raise.

I hope you love the cover as much as I do, and thanks so much for checking it out!

Our Thoughts

I love the ethereal green foliage and the white light filtering in. Makes it look all shiny and emeraldy. And do I spy windows in the background? I have a thing about nature "reclaiming" man-made structures and if that's a building in the background, I'm totally digging it. I love that Indie is wearing normal clothing, and I love love love her hair. (I'm a pencil straight girl, so I guess that just goes with the territory.)

About the Book

If high school is all about social status, Indigo Blackwood has it made. Sure, her quirky mom owns an occult shop, and a nerd just won’t stop trying to be her friend, but Indie is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend and a social circle powerful enough to ruin everyone at school. Who wouldn’t want to be her?

Then a guy dies right before her eyes. And the dusty old family Bible her mom is freakishly possessive of is stolen. But it’s when a frustratingly sexy stranger named Bishop enters Indie’s world that she learns her destiny involves a lot more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn’t get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that’s seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, she’s a witch too.

Suddenly forced into a centuries-old war between witches and sorcerers, Indie’s about to uncover the many dark truths about her life—and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid.

I love the cover! It's so earthy, which to me is great. I've been seeing a lot of witchcraft in YA lately, but the elemental natural of this really sets it apart. I can't wait to read!

This Cover is just beautiful. I love the girls blond curls. So gorgeous. And the background makes it seem so ... IDK ... mysterious. Yes, that's it.

So exited to read it. March is just so far ... *sigh*

Given the cheerleader theme of the book, I was not expecting such an ethereal, mystical cover. I absolutely love it though. I want to read this book even more now! Love the title font too.
