Bookstagrammer of the Month: Christy of @cbookaddiction

cbookaddiction

Welcome to our new monthly special feature post, Bookstagrammer Of The Month!

Each month we will be interviewing a different Bookstagrammer  (Book lover/photographer on Instagram) who will share with us a bit of their experience about the Bookstagram community!

Introducing Christy of @cbookaddiction, YABC's Bookstagrammer of the Month!!

Christy is a 30 year old mom, wife and registered nurse living in a small Kentucky town where the nearest bookstore is two hours away. Lacking any bookish interaction IRL, Christy started the blog, Novel Ink, back in 2012. Though she is no longer part of the blog, she is still active with the blogging community on Twitter. These days you can find her over on bookstagram sharing photos of all the bookish things!

Instagram . Goodreads . Twitter

1. How long have you been part of the Bookstagram community?

I joined Bookstagram in July of 2015, but I didn't get serious about my account until June of 2016.

2. Can you tell us a bit about your feed/style and how it has changed over time?

My feed has changed dramatically over the last year and a half. When I first started I was lacking in the prop department as you can see in this photo.

It took me longer than I would've like to discover a style that I love. I went through quite a few filters/themes before finding my niche.

3. What is the silliest thing you've ever done for the sake of a photo?

Hmmmm I guess making my husband carve a wooden stake for me for a photo or making my daughter dress up as Alice for a photo haha.

4. When do you make time for taking photos? Do you usually plan ahead or take photos as you go (daily)?

I'm a full time registered nurse and due to the fact that I work 12 hour shifts, I have to plan ahead to take all my photos on my days off. As for a plan of what photos I'm taking that day, I usually have a few ideas in mind but I mostly wing it and go with what I'm feeling.

5. What type of camera do you use?

I actually don't use a camera, all of my photos are taken using my iPhone 6s!

6. What are some of your favorite props (besides books, of course ;) )?

I love using all types of props and I'm constantly in search of new and unique things to use! As of right now, my most used props are candles and flowers! I'm also loving bookish temporary tattoos and bookmarks lately!

7. Which of your photos is your absolute favorite and why?

I just love this Six of Crows photo that I took! It's the first time I done a style like this and I just love how it turned out!

8. What is the thing you love most about Bookstagramming?

My most loved thing about Bookstagram is the friendships! This community is so awesome and there a ton of people out there who are amazing to talk to! I've 'met' some amazing people through Bookstagram and I've gained quite a few friends as well!

9. What are a few of your favorite Bookstagram accounts?

Oh man, I have a ton of accounts that I just love and draw inspiration from! Some of my absolute favorites are @darkfaerietales_, @myfriendsarefiction, @novelheartbeat, @readerrewind, @xenatine, @ashleythebookslayer, @thereaderandthechef and @lulumoonowlbooks! But trust me, I could name so many more! There are a ton of amazing accounts on bookstagram!

10. Do you have any tips for new Bookstagram accounts that you wish you knew when you started?

I wish I would've discovered natural lighting sooner haha! But in all seriousness, just have fun. This is such an amazing community so reach out and get to know other bookstagrammers. I've made so many friends through bookstagram and I'm so grateful for each and every friendship. Also, don't stress about the stats, which I know is easier said than done, but just have fun with it. Take and post photos that YOU love!

Thank you again for stopping by YABC, Christy! We are so in love with your account and we cannot wait to see more of your stunning photos in the bookstagram community!
