Meet Skipping Forward!
What if you could skip forward in time, but never back?
Molly Jacobs has always wished for more time in life. But for Molly, time doesn’t work the same as it does for others because she suffers from time skipping. At least, that’s what she calls it. From the age of seven, Molly discovers her ability to jump into the future. But it doesn't come without a price. With each time skip, memories of those seconds, minutes, or hours of her life are lost. Molly never cared until Rhett enters her life. Now, time has meaning, and as they grow closer together, pieces of their time together disappears. Molly needs to learn discipline and control, before she loses the essence of her life.
A story about love, loss, and coming of age.
~ Guest Post ~
Time travel is one of those things that I think most people wonder about. Some want to see what the future is like. Others may want to change their past. The one thing that I believe is that time isn’t something we should mess with. Things happen how their meant to be. The choices you make may set you on a different path, but it’ll always lead to the path you were supposed to be on. That’s how I got the idea for SKIPPING FORWARD.
SKIPPING FORWARD isn’t your typical time travel novel. For Molly Jacobs, she can’t control her ability. Instead, she keeps traveling into the future without meaning to, but can’t go back in time to regain the time she’s lost. When she meets Rhett, she realizes that controlling her ability becomes that much more important because she doesn’t want to miss out on memories with him. However, when something tragic happens, Molly can’t let it go. SKIPPING FORWARD is a story about love, loss, and discovering yourself.
My favorite character would be either Rhett or Maddox. I love how patient and kind Rhett is. I wanted him to be a genuine character that anyone would love to read about. As for Maddox, I loosely based him off of my brother, so he kind of has to be a favorite, right? He and I both love video games and anime, so it’s always been a common interest that’s kept us close as the years have passed.
This story is close to my heart because writing it was so difficult. I remember crying while I was working on it and my husband telling me, “You know you’re the author, so you can change the story, right?” I laughed through my tears and replied with, “But this is the way the story is supposed to go.” He thought I was crazy, but I was doing what I love: the good and bad side of emotional writing.
I hope this story can inspire people in ways that it inspired me. SKIPPING FORWARD is a book that I HAD to write and I’m so happy I did. I hope that as people read it, they can relate to the characters and fall in love with them just like I did.
