Meet Mifflin Lowe!
Author, singer, songwriter, and musician Mifflin Lowe has twelve books published, which have sold over 300,000 copies in 4 languages. His currently release books include The True West (CBC selected book), The Cuddle Book, and Dad. The Man, The Myth, The Legend as well as a children's poetry book, Beasts by the Bunches, Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z. A Bedtime Story and three humor books for adults: The Cheapskate's Handbook, I Hate Fun, and How To Be A Celebrity.
Meet Dad, The Man, The Myth, The Legend!
He's the most interesting man in the world. He changes diapers just because he likes it. His bedtime stories are so epic, they begin "Twice upon a time." When he does long division, there are never any remainders. And if his love were a building, not even King Kong could reach the top.
He's a myth. He's a legend. He's . . . my dad!
Dad: The Man, The Myth, The Legend is an epic--and totally unexaggerated--tale for dads everywhere! Heroic, hilarious, and heartwarming, it's the sweet saga of Dad: protector, provider, and child's best friend.
And it's all true. Right Dad?
~ Author Chat ~
YABC: Who is your favorite character in the book?
Hmmmm. I think the son. I also like the goofy dad and the snarky mom.
YABC: Which came first, the title or the novel?
The title — the concept, actually, of a book to bring kids and fathers closer.
YABC: What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why?
I love the scene in which the son’s Science Fair project, a volcano, goes awry and sets off the sprinkler system, soaking everyone. It’s just stupid fun and I LOVE the way the father puts a good spin on it, praising the son and saying “Now THAT’S a volcano.”
YABC: What do you like most about the cover of the book?
Well…it’s big. Plus, I really like the drawing of the daughter — climbing all over her dad’s head — with her orange hair and red. protruding tongue, licking his face.
YABC: What new release book are you looking most forward to in 2021?
I’ve got to say I love THE CUDDLE BOOK, which was released by Familius in February 2021. It was a book that was developed from a poem I wrote “The Cuddle Bug” that’s kind of a combo platter of e.e.cummings and the inevitable Dr. Seuss.
YABC: What was your favorite book in 2020?
I really loved my book THE TRUE WEST — about all-inclusive diverse and the amazing, resilient people on the American Frontier.
YABC: What’s up next for you?
A KID’S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ART — again, by Bushel & Peck. David Miles, the owner/publisher, is a fantastic art director and I can hardly wait to see what he does with this tome.
YABC: Is there anything that you would like to add?
Uhhhhh… thank you.
YABC: Which part of the writing process do you enjoy more: Drafting or Revising?
Drafting. I like having my brain roam and seeing what it comes up with. I also like the back and forth between me and the editor (again, David Miles) that helps define and focus the book.
YABC: What would you say is your superpower?
Imagination. I think it’s everyone’s superpower, if they’re lucky.
YABC: Is there an organization or cause that is close to your heart?
The Salvation Army. I’ve always respected and admired those folks out amongst us, ringing their bells during the holiday season. It’s so person-to-person. I also love being associated with Bushel & Peck’s “Book for Book Program” - which gives a book to a child, school, or library for every book sold.

The cover is awesome. Not only does it highlight the love the kids feel for their Dad, it also shows that the reader can expect lots of hilarious hijinks.
The synopsis is awesome and has definitely piqued my interest. I will keep my fingers crossed that I win a copy of this book to #readandreview
