BIG TRUCK, LITTLE ISLAND is a cute story of community and sharing. A big rig is carrying a heavy load when it slips off the road. While it is stuck, two cars come on each side and they are all stuck. The kids have somewhere to be, so the four kids meet in the middle and come up with a plan to swap cars in order to get where they need to be. They make the switch, and the big rig is rescued with the surprise reveal of what it was carrying for the whole island.

What I loved: This is a really fun story with rhyming and lyrical text that shows the power of coming together and creative solutions as well as community and sharing. The four children coming together to create a solution was a really charming and inspiring touch that empowers kids to help solve problems. Illustrations are detailed and really capture the story well with plenty to explore visually on each page. The tone of the book is positive and collaborative. Children who enjoy trucks and rhyming text will really delight in this fun read.
