Calma Harrison lives in Australia with her mother, whom she has nicknamed The Fridge since most of their communication takes place via notes on the refrigerator. She's 16 and has only one good friend. Her adventures begin when she's in the local Crazi-Cheep and stumbles upon a hot guy. She decides this would be the perfect place to get a job.

Calma's antics are sometimes hilarious (why did she think it would be a good idea to go that upscale hair dresser right before her big date?) and sometimes heart-breaking (something is up with her friend, Vanessa, and Calma is determined to get to the bottom of it). She has a great sense of humor, but also has an inflated sense of self which leads to some great scenes told via her unreliable narrator style. This is a good pick if you're looking for a few laughs along with some deeper meaning.
