Little children everywhere are excited for Christmas and want to help any way they can. While their parents are around, the children have things under control. With a diverse cast, each child does things all by themselves, or “themelves”. Whether it’s snacking, wrapping presents, or hanging stockings, they are ready to get tasks finished.
ALL BY MY ELF is a cute story all about children helping to spread holiday cheer and add to the vibrant decor. The illustrations are cute with detailed shading and there are some places where it engages children to touch and feel. One example is the wrapping paper of the gift box and it’s shiny and feels a bit like foil. I love the all by my “elf” on each page because while it’s jolly, it also reminds me of a toddler who can’t fully pronounce their words. It’s the perfect addition to bring humor to this board book.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to children from baby and up as either a Christmas gift or for parents to read during the holiday season to help build up cheer.
