Althugh this story is oo far fetch, it is fun to read. After all we read fiction to get away from reality right.

Sam likes to draw so he rparents enroll her in an expensive after school art program full of adults.Besides her she meets a guy thats about her age who looks familiar. When the teacher critisizes on of Sam's paintings, she takes it the wrong way an decides to never go back.
the next week she ditches art class and hangs out at a record store. when she gets out she sees a strange man abuot to shoot the president of the U.S.

well she ends up saving his life and becomes a heroine. throughout the book she deals with problems such as being popular all of a sudden and being in love with her sister's boyfriend. But wait what happened to that cute guy from her art class, oh yeah he happens to be none other than the president's son who has his eyes set on Sam. What's Sam to do?

This was a satisfactory read. I could related to Sam, the main character, in many ways. Black-clad, sarcastic tongue and with an artistic flair. The plot, though, was cheesy. Sam saves the president and her life changes forever. A modern fairy-tale...no gets worse. She falls in love with president's son, David. The plot may be something to improve on, but the voice and characterization was interesting. It was also extrememly funny. I would recommend this book for people wanting escape from reality. It does as a good job as any fantasy. It also had a sequel, Ready or Not, which, according to my opinion, isn't much better. Still, if you're interested-try the book-despite my strong opinion

This is my favorite Meg Cabot book, and one of my favorite books ever. All-American girl's main character, Sam, is a Gwen Stefani-loving, all-black-wearing, celebrity-drawing, totally not what you think of from the title (All-American brings to mind a cheerleader living in suburbia, you know?) awesome girl who saves the life of the President, and ends up falling in love with his son.

This book is amazing. It has fabulous, believable characters--cheerleading, makeup-loving older sister Lucy, freaky-genius, sci-fi fan little sister Rebecca, super-tough housekeeper Theresa, and so many more. Everything in this book is well-thought-out and well written, and the result is something that everyone should read!

I really enjoyed this book because it is one of the sweetest books I have read. I like the idea of Samantha not being the prettiest girl and that she is kind of a rebel. This makes many types of people want to read this book. I like the fact that she described as not very pretty and ending up with a cute guy.

Samantha Madison is a normal teenager until she saves the president while ditching her art class. He is very grateful and invites her and her family to have dinner with his. She meets David, the president's son. She kind of likes him, and he kinda likes her. There's only one problem: she's in love with her popular sister's boyfriend. Read this book if you like the Princess Diaries because this is a great, fun book that you will love. I know I do.

the story is a bit unrealistic, but everyone loves a fairy tale, especially the one taking place on broad daylight (or rainy day) in washington dc. and meg has created her best heroine ever. sam madison is witty, hilarious and modest. definitely the right candidate for the teen ambasssador to the UN.besides, she's tough. what more could you ask for?

EXCELLENT BOOK (ALTHOUGH UNREALISITIC) BUT ITZ UNREALISTICNESS ADDS TO THE CHARM.. I THINK ITS GR8 HOW THE FOCUS ON THE NON-POPULAR SISTER BUT SHEE NEVER REALLY SHOWS JELOUSY FOR HER OLDER SISTER..EXCELLENT ONE OF THOSE TEEN-LIT BOOKS THAT CAN BE ENJOYED BY ALL.. INSIGHT INTO TYPICAL TEEN LIFE AND HOW IT CAN CHANGE.
(SEQUEL WAS DISAPPOINTING)

This is one to skip. It wasn't interesting and I almost fell asleep. The ending is entirely predictable and the plot was unrealistic. A teenage girl saves the First Son from an attempt on his life? Give me a break! What happened to the Secret Service? Isn't it their job to protect the president and his family. And the whole girl power thing--so nineties. Sam, the Spice Girls got it before you.
