This was such a neat book! It was a great introductory to cinema/film history. The authors note was fantastic addition at the end, to delve deeper into this history.

I felt the writing was a bit slow, or not as lively as some other children's books. The style did not hold my five year old's attention too well - but it is fine for older children.

I rather enjoyed the illustrations. They are more cartoon-ish versions of well known (and some not too well known) movies. I loved how the author went back to the 1800s and gave us a glimpse of the first cameras created. Not only a history lesson, but a little bit of a science one too!
