Macbeth

I read this in my senior year of high school, and it is my favorite Shakespeare play ever! So strange and tempting!

Like everyone else, I had to read this play for English, and I really tried to understand it and even analyze it. And it's pure genius, with all the metaphors and symbols and how they all tie back to one another.
My favorite line from the play is, "Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more" because it seems really true to me.

This classic has everything you could want in an action story: murder, intrigue, and betrayal. How far would you go to gain power? Macbeth answers this question when he pushes all morals aside to gain what he considers is his rightful crown. First Macbeth was a meek man, spurned by ambition and a pretty evil wife, but in the end he is left with hands dirtied with the blood of his best friend and his trusting king. This story is action-packed, though a bit hard to understand. Once you get it, you'll experience the disturbing world of Macbeth.

I consider Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet to be the two best possible introductions to Shakespeare. They seem somewhat simpler than, say, Hamlet or the Merchant of Venice, in plot following and language, but still maintain a perfectly weaved order of events that leads to a satisfying conclusion. Macbeth's murderous themes of guilt and revenge (Lady Macbeth's "Out, damned spot!") make it very suspenseful. It's also one of Shakespeare's better known works, so a basic knowledge of its premise is useful in other literature studies -- especially for understanding allegories or the humor of a parody.

i think that macbeth is a very interesting play and i think that you can only understand the play if you want to read it. if you dont want to read it then you will find it more difficult to understand the charaacters feelings and emotions.
a lot of people may think that MACBETH as a play is boring, how can it be boring when there are such a wide range of different characters? each one unique in there own way. i think that macbeth should be studied in schools as it gives children an insite on different relationships and also shows them that people can be fake.

This play was one of the worst books i had to read for class. I found it dry and even though i liked the witchcraft theme I could not read this again.

I thought the way Shakespeare wrote this play was clever as he added devices so his actors could remember what to say but I found the play boring.
Even though I appreciate that he wrote how they would at the time I found it a hard read.

Yeah, I know, Shakespeare's 'sposed to be really dorky, but this is so good! There's really no good genre to put this under. Macbeth and his wife kill the king and Macbeth becomes king. I especially like the three witches.
