Getting to know all about you

High school graduation means big change for everyone, especially for Bella Swan, who has finally managed to convince her irresistible vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen to transform her into one of his kind after their commencement ceremony. But someone is raising a vampire army and that means big trouble for Bella and her friends in the town of Forks. Lifelong enemies will band together to defeat the invaders, while Bella will struggle with her decision to become an immortal, wondering whether she should, after all, choose to liveand eventually dieas the human that she is.

Eclipse is an excellent instalment in the Twilight series, almost as good as the original, and written with more attention to style and better pace than New Moon. While theres less action than in the previous two books, Eclipse gives us insight into some characters that we havent heard from beforesuch as Rosalie and Jasperand moves forward the love story, or should I say triangle, between Bella, Edward, and faithful friend Jacob Black. This third novel really does focus much more on the personal dimension and less on the legends of vampires and werewolves and their mystical powers. Learning more about what the creatures could do made the previous books thrilling, but Eclipse is exciting because somehow Meyer has managed to create not one but two such attractive love interests for her heroine that readers (not to mention Bella!) will find it almost impossible to choose between them. While it seems like everythings wrapped up at the end of the novelin a way that definitely wont please all readers, I must warn youMeyer has just signed on to continue the series, so expect Bellas story to pick up again this time next year, hopefully with more action and new developments regarding the special abilities of the non-humans. In the meantime, readers will greatly enjoy the experience of Eclipse, which gives them a chance to get to know the colourful characters of Forks better, as the charactersespecially our lovable heroine Bellacome to know themselves better as well.

Okay.

I read the last two Twilight books during a hurricane. Yup, and I was right after I finished reading New Moon. It would not get any better, but I still compulsively read these books. Mostly because it was storming outside, the power was out, and I had borrowed these books from a friend.
So Edward is back, and Bella is putting poor Jake on the back burner, again. I hate reading Bella’s perspective.

Okay...

Eclipse is the third book in the twilight saga. I thought that the books get more boring and not as good as the story progresses. I think the author was just dragging out the story a bit to much, a whole lot of this book was just waffling along. I got bored and I put it down halfway through as I had was piled on with assignments for school and just didn't have the time for such a big book that didn't really have my attention.

The idea of the newbie vampires was really smart and it made the book a slight bit more exciting than the last one, New Moon. The plot was dragged out quite a bit but it had its good times. I recommend it to the lovers of the last two twilight books but not to people who didn't enjoy as much

Love this one

This one is action packed. I really enjoyed it, much better than New Moon. More in depth with the characters and it brings everyone together in a way. Wonderfully written, and again a seamless story line from start to finish. I love this series.

Eclipse - Pretty good book

Reader reviewed by Anna

Overall, Eclipse is a good book. Its a little bit slow in the beginning, but it gets a lot better. It leaves you wondering what will happen next, which makes it very difficult to put it down. I would recommend it to pretty much anybody who either likes a love story, or a good fantasy novel. The only thing I absolutely dont like about it is the fact that vampires sparkle in the Twilight series, but I can live with that.

Suspenseful

Reader reviewed by Taylor

I recommend this book to anyone who like suspense and love stories. I believe that people who are not into science fiction would still like this book because it's more about a love story than anything else. I enjoyed this book because it continued the story from the first two books of the series. I think Stephenie Meyer wrote an amazing series full of suspense. She does a great job keeping the reader guessing and wondering what's going to happen next.

Eclipse: Infatuation or True Love? A Look into Bella Swan

Reader reviewed by sushi

Stephenie Meyer did a good job with her release of the third book of the Twilight saga, Eclipse. Personally, it was my favorite out of the entire series. Although I loved the book, there were many things that peeved me quite a bit. Throughout the entire book, she has a vampire stalking her for revenge, Victoria. Bella lives in paranoia and fear as she learns that Victoria is out to kill her&in a painful death. Everybody (as in the vampires and werewolves) step in to protect her, which I thought was a bit too much just for her. The main character Bella herself annoys me very much because she is possibly the most selfish and infuriatingly indecisive person there is in the entire book. I dont see anything at all about her to love. Edward, her vampire fiancé, and Jacob, her werewolf best friend, are both competing for her love, and also hate each other because that is how nature created them. She is stubborn from the beginning that she is absolutely and completely in love with Edward, but a little later into the book, coincidentally after Jacob makes out with her, she slowly begins to realize that shes also in love with Jacob. I think its mostly her hormones speaking. Shes only 17 for crying out loud, yet shes in love with 2 completely different guys. Bella dumps Jacob away as soon as Edward came back to her. On top of that, she cries herself to death over Jacob while Edward is around, hurting Edward in the process. I have never hated a fictional character as much as I hate Bella Swan.

Reader reviewed by sally

Eclipse is Stephanie Meyer's third book of the addicting twilight series. Eclipse is a book that you will finish in one sitting! it is a great romantic book that will leave you hungry for more. It is the kind of book that will make you love to read, even if you hated books before. Eclipse is a the continuation of the love story betwee Bella and Edward. Trust me! You are missing out if you do not read this amazing book. The love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob had a major influence on this book and it will make you intersted in this book beyond belief!

The best of them all!!!

Reader reviewed by Heather =]]

This one was defidently the best of them all!!!
It had plenty of action in it and it kept you on the edge just waiting to see what happens after each page...unlike new moon..ugh!
but this is where Victoria comes in and Edward and Jacob do their thing..it is just full of action!!...once again, unlike new moon.
So if you read new moon and arnt sure about reading this one, trust me it gets good!! Buuutt...then it goes back down in breaking down =/

Battle..

Reader reviewed by Cintia

Along with edward's return is more obstacles. Victoria has also returned with an army of new born vampires. with the help of jasper they practice to battle the army. Vampires and were wolfs become allies and fight together.. this novel shows that "people" can work together setting apart their differences in order to reach a common goal.

Action Packed, No Shadow of A Doubt

Reader reviewed by GRgenius

Very rarely to I give out 5 star ratings on books because let's face it....there are so many great ones out there it really has to git me the right way to stick.  That being said, Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight series, offers another one two punch with the telling of Edward and Bella's riveting tale.  I don't want to reveal too much as I am sure there are still some that have not read the novels yet (you know who you are!), but of the books thus far, this one has the most action you've seen.  We have a scorned lover out for revenge, Bella on the precipice of making the decision of her life or lack thereof, and the werewolves becoming quite restless as there pack continues to grow thanks to the returned presence of the Cullen family.  Highly recommended for one and all...happy reading!
