This is the perfect ebook novella to read while waiting for the second book in THE SELECTION series: THE ELITE.

I really loved reading Prince Maxon's POV. This novella shows us the selection through his eyes. I loved seeing how he viewed the girls including America. Plus the hint of a possible other interest: Daphne, the French king's daughter. I can't help but think there's more to this story and hope to see more of her. There's also the first two chapters of THE ELITE included so readers get a 'taste' of what to look forward to in April.

The only thing missing had to be this novella was too short! I wanted more! But like I said, this is really just a teaser to have readers salivating for the next SELECTION book. I can't wait!

I agree with the other YABC editors here: If you haven't read THE SELECTION series yet? This novella is the perfect place to start.

I was really excited when I saw that this was a prequel to THE SELECTION and couldn't wait to "meet" the infamous Prince Maxon.

What I liked: I always enjoy watching a story unfold from another character's POV and this one was especially fun because it's Prince Maxon. We get a peek at what his life is really like and the pressure he's under, not only to choose a wife but to please his parents.

What left me wanting: Nothing, although I could've read an entire book from Prince Maxon's POV.

Final verdict: If you haven't read THE SELECTION yet, I suggest starting with this one.

I was excited to find out about this Novella told from Prince Maxon's point of view. It made me get even more excited for The Elite.

What I loved: I loved that Maxon had a chance to share his side of the story. I enjoyed the insight into his thoughts and feelings as the process of The Selection began. This short story gives Prince Maxon even more appeal because readers can see him as a complete character, not someone else's perception of him.

What left me wanting more: Not much, really. I wish the story had actually been a little longer and we got to hear more from Maxon's point of view.

Final Verdict: Fans of The Selection will enjoy this. If you haven't read The Selection yet, pick it up and get The Prince as well!

I recently picked up "The Selection Stories". I have to say I loved seeing things from Prince Maxon's POV. It was nice to get into his head. This poor guy is under an enormous amount of pressure from his father. It makes me want to read more from his POV. We get to see a little bit of his life before the selection starts and his life changes. If you love The Selection series you definitely want to pick this one up.

This was a great glimpse into Prince Maxon's head. I loved this little tidbit even more inside Maxon's head than when we viewed them from America's point of view. I think because Maxon had so much more on the line than America had.
Also, I know this says that its The Selection #0.5, but I would advise to read this AFTER The Selection because it tells some of the events that happen in that book. They're not necessarily spoilers, but still if you want the complete surprise, I would advise to read this second.
