Godspeed was fueled by lies. Now it is ruled by chaos.

It's been three months since Amy was unplugged. The life she always knew is over. And everywhere she looks, she sees the walls of the spaceship Godspeed. But there may just be hope: Elder has assumed leadership of the ship. He's finally free to enact his vision - no more Phydus, no more lies.

But when Elder discovers shocking news about the ship, he and Amy race to discover the truth behind life on Godspeed. They must work together to unlock a puzzle that was set in motion hundreds of years earlier, unable to fight the romance that's growing between them and the chaos that threatens to tear them apart.

In book two of the Across the Universe trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis mesmerizes us again with a brilliantly crafted mystery filled with action, suspense, romance, and deep philosophical questions. And this time it all builds to one mind-bending conclusion: They have to get off this ship.

Stars! How the frex am I supposed to wait another year to find out what happens with Amy and Elder?!

This sequel has it all, action, adventure, romance, even a mystery to solve that could change the fate of the Godspeed. As Elder continues to solidify his role as Godspeed's new leader, he's met with resistance especially now that Phydus is no longer in use. The fact that there are many who view Amy as a threat doesn't help, and things only get more complicated after Elder uncovers a shocking secret, one that will have he and Amy searching for clues that could affect everyone on board.

The more time they spend together, the less they're able to deny the feelings that are developing between them but Amy still questions. She believes love is a choice and wonders if she and Elder weren't the only two their age, if they both had a choice, would they still choose each other? Better yet, would she still choose Elder because, let's face it, we KNOW he'd choose her. (Personally, I think she needs to "choose" to stop frexing thinking so much.)

As their search continues, becoming more dangerous at every turn, the ship goes into complete chaos. Frex! Will Amy and Elder be able to find the answers they need in time and at what cost? Trusts will be broken, loyalties questioned, lives lost and love tested, all for the sake of hope in a New Earth...a new beginning.

Good Points
There's always pressure for an author to deliver a follow up book that's just as good if not better than the first and "A Million Suns" does not disappoint!

Amazing Tale

I’m a huge fan of YA sci-fi books. I loved Across the Universe and
couldn’t wait for the follow-up book. Some sequels fall flat and fail to
live up to the hype. Let me tell you though, A Million Suns lives up to
its hype and more.

Once again we are on the ship Godspeed. It’s been three months since
Elder unplugged Amy, and now a revolt is brewing.

What do I love about this series? First, it has a multicultural character,
Elder, who is multi-layered and far from being a ‘perfect’ leader. He
struggles with being leader and also his love for Amy. Leadership doesn’t
come easy to him. He finds that maybe the former Elder had some things
right. In his attempt to be more democratic, he opens up the others on
the ship to question. Questioning, though, could lead to his downfall.

Amy is strong and fearless at times, but also struggles with her own
feelings toward Elder. Like she mentions in the book:

…Love without choice isn’t love at all…

Sure she feels something for Elder, but she continues to ask herself if
she would feel this way if they were not on Godspeed and around other
teens. In the first book, people on board avoid her. Now she faces
outright outrage and even revulsion for being ‘different.’ Add to that her
frozen parents who are so close to her, yet so far away.

There’s also an unsolved mystery. What is the ship hiding? I love the
twists and turns in the plot as Amy follows clues Orion (the former exited
Elder in training) leaves for her. Can she find this secret in time before
the others on board overthrow Elder?

Revis creates a world that is believable, with writing that makes us feel
the paranoia, fear, and restlessness aboard the Godspeed. Action-filled
scenes keep you glued to each page, wanting to know what will happen next.
This book has it all: mystery, suspense, action, and romance. The ending
leaves you grasping for more!

Can’t wait for what happens next.

Good Points
1. Great follow-up to Across the Universe
2. Twists and turns that keep you reading
3. Couldn't put this book down! Yeah, it's that good!

A Million Suns, book 2 of Across the Universe

I have to be honest - I didn't remember much of anything from Across the Universe when I started AMS. I read so much and so quickly that details tend to get lost, especially when I have to wait a long time. But I can happily say that if you're like me and don't retain plot that well over several months, you can still pick this book up and not be too lost. Revis does a really great job at gently reminding you of all the little (or not so little) tidbits you'd forgotten. By the end of AMS I felt like I could have reliably described the plot of AtU to a non-reader, and do a better job than "there's these two people on a space ship..."
Another thing I really enjoyed about AMS was all the plot twists. This is Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys all grown up, where the bad guys aren't ever who we think they are, and the wrong thing looks an awful lot like the right thing in bad lighting. Oh and there's the added bonus of "HOLY CRAP we're in space." Plus, and this was my favorite part, when the major twist was finally revealed I found myself rereading 2 or 3 times to make sure I'd read it right. I did NOT see it coming in the slightest!

All in all this was a great read, and I can't wait to find out what happens in the end!

Good Points
Easy to get in to even without remembering Across the Universe.
Tackles important, relevant issues.
Really good twists I didn't see coming.

Must Read

This book was sooo good! The writing and plot were just as excellent as the first book. It goes much deeper than just telling a story, Beth Revis successfully portrays the character's emotions and human nature. I couldn't believe the secrets Amy and Elder discover and cannot wait for the final book! SOOO EXCITED!

Good Points
Really well written, it is very easy to connect to and the characters seem to come to life.
The story was just as good as the first and the secrets and surprises just keep coming!
Bad Points
The only bad point is how long we have to wait between books. But they're worth the wait!

Loved, Loved, Loved

I loved this book and was counting down the days untill the book came out. It was as amazing as the first book was.
The story continuned with Amy and Elder still abord the ship and A Million Suns started three months after the end of the first book. Lies are still abord the ship as there were in the first book.

I dont think that the book could not have gotton any better and I have nothing bad to say about the book. But, the only downside is waiting for the next book to come out.
