Let's Investigate with Nate #1: The Water Cycle
This is the first book in a new STEM-based picture book series from the Emmy Award-winning host of PBS’s Design Squad and Design Squad Nation, Nate Ball. With a lively cast of characters and vibrant illustrations by Wes Hargis, it's an adventure in learning!
Ever wonder where water comes from and where it goes? Or why sometimes it rains and sometimes it snows? Then join Nate Ball and his crack team of curious scientists as they shrink down smaller than a raindrop to see firsthand what the water cycle is all about.
Bill Nye meets the Magic School Bus
In LET'S INVESTIGATE WITH NATE, the doors of the Science Museum become a portal to another world, but only an hour before the museum opens on Saturdays. On this adventure, Nate is going to teach Wendy, Braden, Felix, and Rosa all about the water cycle.
The four of them are each given a question to answer at the end of their trip. What kind of water lives in the sky? What causes evaporation? What causes water droplets to form in the air? When is a river hidden from the sky?
This was an informative book that makes science and learning about the water cycle fun. There's also an experiment to make your own cloud at home in the back of the book, along with a glossary. This was an interesting way to approach science and I loved the illustrations.
Final Verdict: I thought this was the perfect book that teaches about science, but is entertaining and will hold a child's attention at the same time. I would recommend this to children who love science, adventures, THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS, or lust like to learn new things.
