Lots of Useful Jokes!

This book includes a number of Knock Knock jokes as well as a large number of one liners such as "Why couldn't the beaver work on his computer? He forgot to log in." Most of the pages have very faint drawing of children engaged in a variety of activities, which fills up space nicely and gives added interest to the pages.

There isn't really any organization to the jokes; they are not arranged according to themes, for example. This is not a problem, but if you are looking for jokes for a particular reason, you will have to scan the entire book.

I used to text my daughter every morning to make sure she woke up in time for high school, but she wouldn't text me back. I started texting her jokes so that she would. This would definitely have been a useful resource at the time!

Good Points
Anyone who has worked with a six year old will tell you that trying out jokes on people is definitely a developmental phase! There's something about realizing that words have multiple meanings and that some words sound like other words that has a great appeal to this age group. Early elementary school students are acquiring a large amount of new vocabulary words, and telling and hearing jokes can help with this process.

I remember driving my mother crazy with a joke book that we had-- not only did I like to tell her the jokes, but I liked her to tell them to me so that I could guess the answers. Of course, by the twentieth time we read the book, I knew the answers, but that was somehow fun, too. Luckily, there are lots of installments of Laugh-out-Loud books to keep children supplied with fresh jokes.
