Fun and Unique
A fun, unique story to keep young readers engages and thoroughly entertained.
Hugo is a small hamster with a big dream. He wants to fight fires. The problem? Hamsters can't be firefighters. He thinks he's too small, too weak. So, while he dreams of saving cats from trees, he focuses on the other talents he possesses. Until he gets his chance. After getting the opportunity to try his hand at fighting fires, he once again thinks he isn't good enough. The suit is too big. The hose is too heavy. Before he gives up, he goes on one final call. While there, he notices someone he can save that no one else can and all of a sudden, he's an asset, not a liability. He's a hero.
What I loved:
Deciding to combine hamsters and firefighting in a single story for children is a brilliant move. Right from the start, it will have them giggles and staring at the pages. They love when animals do human things. Somewhat hidden in these pages is a theme about not giving up. Everyone has something to offer if they try hard. Hugo achieved his impossible dream because he went against the odds. The images are nicely done. Colorful and engaging.
What was just okay:
Nothing. It was all pretty good.
A cute and fun story that is sure to have children begging to read it again and again.
