Full disclosure: I have the pleasure of drinking coffee with this author several times a month. He's even more hilarious and good-natured in person than his works would suggest. This novel will come out as a DreamWorks animated feature film this fall, starring big names like Steve Martin, Jim Parsons, and Rihanna, and I'm thrilled for Adam's success. This novel succeeds very well at what it sets out to do on every page: make you laugh out loud. It's quite clever, to boot, full of nice twists on old tropes and innovative new ideas. I highly recommend it to any humor reader, young or old, and you definitely need to read the book before you go see the movie (though be sure to do both, whatever the order)!
