I really liked Dark Life too. Its on the Florida Sunshine State Young Reader list and its my favorite of the 15 titles. I need to find the time to read Rip Tide, the sequal.

A Good Adventure

This one is actually my favorite of the series. I fell in love with Shasta and the horses, and I liked meeting new characters and being introduced to a new kingdom. However, it's usually the least favorite for lots of people b/c of those points. Fascinating.

Meet Franklin Bean deals with some of the problems in our society in a positive way. The author really has a good idea what is going on with children and I just loved this book. I bought Kindles for my twin grandchildren and Meet Franklin Bean was the first book loaded for them to read after Christmas. The story is so encouraging.
