Meet Lizzy Charles!

Lizzy Charles writes young adult contemporary romance and would rather read than eat, but if she’s not reading then you can bet she’s eating. She’s a tea fanatic, guacamole expert, and sushi lover (though not necessarily combined). When she’s fixing lunches, dressing kids, changing diapers, or wiping pizza sauce off sticky hands, she escapes to La La Land and imagines all sorts of little love stories that she likes to tuck into novels once she’s put all three kids to bed.  Lizzy loves her daily dose of fitness and is also a Registered Nurse so she can triage any symptom you send her way. Her best friend is her husband, and it’s no wonder she loves writing YA romance since the two fell in love in high school. She’s also enjoys blogging at LizzyCharles.com where she talks about life, faith, food, health, parenting, and more. Oh and she has a little pup named Professor Lupin who is pretty much the glue to the whole writing operation.

Meet It Had To Be You!

James Parson has a problem. His military dad is going to yank him out of his expensive boarding school if James doesn’t prove he’s no longer hooking up, pulling pranks, and charming his way out of consequences. What better way to show he’s now responsible than becoming the committed boyfriend of a U.S. diplomat’s daughter?

Level-headed, book-smart Edelweiss may have traveled the world thanks to her dad’s job, but when it comes to friends and boys, she knows exactly nothing. Newly enrolled in boarding school, Edel is now on a mission to learn it all. James says he’ll help her experience the ultimate high school life—if she’ll be his fake girlfriend. And fake is perfect, because he’s exactly the kind of player she’d never date.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains red-hot romance, all the feels, and a soul-mate bad boy.

Excerpt from It Had to be You:

“What part of a fake relationship isn’t uncomfortable? We don’t have long if we’re going to be seen when he comes back.”

He nods down a row of magazines an aisle over. “If you stand against those and I angle my head just right, we won’t have to actually kiss. He’ll see us through the bookcase on his way back from the bathroom, and it’ll look good enough.”

“Okay.” I tremble while I stand up, allowing him to lead me down the row to the best spot.

He cocks his eye. “Forgive me?” Then he rubs his hand through my hair. “There. Make-out hair is a must. When I see him coming, I’ll lean in. Then you tilt your head to the right. That’s all we’ll need. Okay?”

“Okay.” My breath quickens while we wait.

…and wait.

Suddenly, from my view, I see Mason walking with a book in his hand. Wait. This is wrong. He’s supposed to be behind me, on the other side of the shelf. He’s going to see us and know we’re faking all of it.

My tiptoes take over, launching me upward so my lips brush against James’s. His eyes widen and for a second, he’s frozen.

Please, play along. I kiss him again, gripping his shoulder. A beat later, he scoops me in closer and kisses me back. My lips melt as I press my hand to his chest, the thumping of his heart under my palm. His lips explore mine, every brush setting my body ablaze. Whoa. Tingles shoot up my neck and down my arms. My knees quake while he expertly makes us look like we’re sharing a Hollywood kiss.

Gently, he pulls back, lowering my heels back to the ground. An energy hovers between us. He smiles, sweeping my tousled hair out of my face.

My lips tingle, begging to brush once more against his.

My first kiss! My knees wobble. Does a kiss count if it’s fake?

Not a huge fan of the cover, but the story itself sounds amazing! That being said, the cover certainly drew me in because I haven't read about many interracial couples and hope to read more diversely.

I like that the cover is different from the norm. I don't know that I would like the story, only because it sounds kind of like a teen drama show. I would have to read it to see!

The cover is what drew me in. Though it's not the best cover it definitely got my attention. The excerpt had me automatically add it to my most anticipated list on Goodreads.

The diversity of the cover is what caught my eye. I don't normally see a cover like that. Although not the BEST cover, I love the story, and it sounds like the perfect YA romance book.

I typically don't care for romance but this did reel me in and I added it to my TBR pile.

The cover reminds me a bit of a Kasie West book but the diversity is what will likely draw most people's attention.
