It’s Live!! Cover Reveal: Tinfoil Crowns by Erin Jones + Giveaway (US Only)

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for TINFOIL CROWNS by Erin Jones, releasing 04/02/2019 from Flux. Before we get to the reveal, here's a message from Erin:

Hi YABCers!

I was visiting my parents when I got the email from my editor with four possible cover concepts for TINFOIL CROWNS. My editor had asked me to take a few days to think over the concepts and then respond with my favorite. As soon as I opened the attachments, though, I knew I wouldn’t need a few days; the second I saw the bright yellow background with the perfectly crafted tinfoil crown at the forefront, I knew I had my cover. In such a simple yet eye-catching image, the design team at Flux Books, especially Jake Slavik, had managed to capture the heart and soul of my novel. And within seconds (okay, maybe a minute) of opening the email, I was running down the stairs of my childhood home, laptop in hand, shouting to my parents, “I have a cover! It’s yellow!”

As a debut author, the idea that I was actually going to have a published book took a while to fully sink in. Even after the announcement was made and the news was out in the world, there was something in me that kept saying, “This isn’t real.” But something about seeing my name on the cover (which for some reason took me by total surprise) made me realize, "This is really happening." I suppose it's fitting, then, that I was doing work in my childhood bedroom when I first saw the cover. Not only was I in the room where I used to spend hours reading and filling my journals with stories and (really bad) poetry, but I was in the place where I used to stare at my bookshelf and dream of becoming an author. And with seeing the beautiful cover for TINFOIL CROWNS, it finally sunk in that I'd done just that. Now let’s get onto what you all came here for—the cover reveal! I hope you love it as much as I do!

TINFOIL CROWNS

By: Erin Jones

Release: 04/02/2019

Publisher: Flux

About the Book

Seventeen-year-old internet video star Fit is on a mission to become famous at all costs. She shares her life with her fans through countless videos (always sporting some elaborate tinfoil accessory), and they love her for it. If she goes viral, maybe she can get out of her small casino town and the cramped apartment she shares with her brother and grandpa. But there's one thing Fit's fans don't know about her: when Fit was three years old, her mother, suffering from postpartum psychosis, tried to kill her.

Now Fit's mother, River, has been released from prison. Fit is outraged that River is moving in with the family, and it's not long before Fit's video followers realize something's up and uncover her tragic past. But Fit soon learns that the only thing her audience loves more than tragedy is a heartwarming tale of a family reunion. Is faking a relationship with River the key to all Fit's dreams coming true?
