Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THE MARVELOUS ADVENTURES OF GWENDOLYN GRAY by B.A. Williamson, releasing May 15, 2018 from North Star Editions/Jolly Fish Press. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from B.A.:
Salutations, all you explorers of imagination. Today I have the unbridled pleasure to share with you the dazzling cover to The Marvelous Adventures of Gwendolyn Gray.
The artists have done a brilliantly splendid job depicting the worlds Gwendolyn inhabits, described to the best of my meager skill, and cobbled together from many notes and revisions. Our flame-haired heroine is torn between two worlds. One, the grim dystopian society of strict rules, tut-tutting grown-ups, and beastly adolescents, a world where her imagination has escaped the safety of the inside of her head and begun to run amok, wreaking havoc on the orderly society of The City, and bringing the Faceless Gentlemen down upon her. The other, a fantastical society of steampunk inventors, the world of her very dreams, where her talents and cleverness are valued instead of squashed. But, as children often do, she accidentally left the metaphorical door open behind her, and now the Faceless Gentlemen are determined to eradicate all the imagination on other worlds as well.
When I first laid eyes on the wonderful work of the Jolly Fish artists, seeing the magic they made of my meager scrawlings, I was completely overwhelmed. The rich colors leapt off the page and dazzled me as they did Gwendolyn the first time she travelled outside of the greyness of The City. And my precious darling Gwendolyn herself… seeing her represented here, so near to life, left me floating inches off the ground for an entire afternoon. Of course, it’s always a struggle to contain that hair of hers, in ink or otherwise, but they did an impressive job. I hope you enjoy the cover as much as I do. It practically screams adventure, which is exactly what lies in store for you, dear readers.

THE MARVELOUS ADVENTURES OF GWENDOLYN GRAY
By: B.A. Williamson
Release Date: May 15, 2018
Publisher: North Star Editions/Jolly Fish Press
Gwendolyn Gray faces an overwhelming battle every day: keeping her imagination under control. It’s a struggle for a dreamer like Gwendolyn, in a city of identical gray skyscrapers, clouds that never clear, and grown-ups who never understand.
But when her daydreams come alive and run amok in The City, the struggle to control them becomes as real as the furry creatures infesting her bedroom. Worse yet, she’s drawn the attention of the Faceless Gentlemen, who want to preserve order in The City by erasing Gwendolyn and her troublesome creations.
With the help of two explorers from another world, Gwendolyn escapes and finds herself in a land of clockwork inventions and colorful creations. Now Gwendolyn must harness her powers and, with a gang of airship pirates, stop the Faceless Gentlemen from destroying the new world she loves and the home that never wanted her—before every world becomes gray and dull.
B. A. Williamson is the overly caffeinated writer of The Marvelous Adventures of Gwendolyn Gray. When not doing battle with the demons in the typewriter, he can be found wandering Indianapolis with his family, singing in a tuxedo, or taming middle-schoolers. He is a recipient of the Eli Lilly Teacher Creativity Fellowship. Please direct all complaints and your darkest secrets to @BAWrites on social media, or visit gwendolyngray.com.
