It's Live!! Cover Reveal: THE CASTAWAYS by Jessika Fleck + Giveaway (US Only)

Hi, YABCers!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THE CASTAWAYS by Jessika Fleck, releasing April 3, 2017 from Entangled Teen. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Jessika:

Hello YABC! I am over the moon thrilled to welcome you to the cover reveal of THE CASTAWAYS! Isn't it gorgeous? Now, I don't like to think I'm a judge-a-book by its cover sort of gal, but we all know great cover art can do so much for a story... from conveying emotion, to giving the reader a glimpse into the world they're about to enter, to making the book memorable. I have to thank cover artist Erin Dameron-Hill for creating all of the above for me. When I got the email with the final cover image and scrolled down on my phone, I gasped. Yes, it literally took my breath away. And, I'm not at all embarrassed to admit that I definitely pull it up on my laptop and stare at it all googly-eyed for totally acceptable amounts of time. I'm forever in love. Be sure to check out more details about THE CASTAWAYS below and thank you for helping me welcome this lovely little cover into the world!

THE CASTAWAYS

by Jessika Fleck
Release date: April 3, 2017
Publisher: Entangled Teen
 ISBN: 9781633759183

About the Book

The Castaway Carnival: fun, mysterious, dangerous.

Renowned for its infamous corn maze…and the kids who go missing in it.

When Olive runs into the maze, she wakes up on an isolated and undetectable island where a decades-long war between two factions of rival teens is in full swing.

Trapped, Olive must slowly attempt to win each of her new comrades’ hearts as Will—their mysterious, stoically quiet, and handsome leader—steals hers.

Olive is only sure about one thing: her troop consists of the good guys, and she’ll do whatever it takes to help them win the war and get back home.

But victory may require more betrayal, sacrifice, and heartbreak than she’s ready for.

About the Author

Jessika Fleck is a writer, unapologetic coffee drinker, and knitter -- she sincerely hopes to one day discover a way to do all three at once. Until then, she continues collecting vintage typewriters and hourglasses, dreaming of an Ireland getaway, and convincing her husband they NEED more kittens. She's never been known to pass up a good cup of coffee or a great pair of boots. Her work verges on fantastical and dark with a touch of realism. She is a regular contributor to the fantastic kidlit blog, The Kidliterati. Her YA fantasy, THE CASTAWAYS (Entangled Teen) debuts spring 2017 and her second YA fantasy, THE OFFERING (Swoon Reads) is expected to release, fall 2018. Jessika is represented by Victoria Marini of the Irene Goodman Literary Agency.

The cover is nice, and it kind of reminds me of the lion from Narnia. The synopsis seems interesting as well.

I love the big lion on the cover. The story sounds a little like Lord of the Flies.
