It’s Live!! Cover Reveal: The Caged Queen by Kristen Ciccarelli + Giveaway (US/Canada)
Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THE CAGED QUEEN by Kristen Ciccarelli, releasing on September 25, 2018 from HarperTeen. Before we get to the reveal, here's a note from Kristen:
Hi YABC! Welcome to the cover reveal for the North American edition of THE CAGED QUEEN.
My name is Kristen Ciccarelli and I’m thrilled to be here telling you about my new book! THE CAGED QUEEN is the sequel/companion to The Last Namsara. But how can it be both? Well. Let me tell you. :) It's a sequel in that it opens right after the events of The Last Namsara and continues in the same world with the same cast of characters. So if you’ve read The Last Namsara, all your faves will be back. (Well, except for that one fave who didn’t quite make it … sorry guys.) THE CAGED QUEEN is also a companion novel, though, in that it stands alone and is told from a different point of view (Roa's). This means you don’t need to read The Last Namsara first. You can start here and treat TLN like a prequel. Here are some things you can expect to find in THE CAGED QUEEN: dragons, deadly politics, a hate-to-love romance, girl villains, friendship, camaraderie, and the deep magic of sisterly bonds. I can’t wait for you to read it!

THE CAGED QUEEN
By: Kristen Ciccarelli
Release Date: September 25, 2018
ISBN (if available): 9780062568014
Once there were two sisters born with a bond so strong that when they were angry, mirrors shattered, and when they were happy, flowers bloomed. Roa and Essie called this magic the hum and it forged them together—until a terrible accident took Essie’s life and trapped her fading soul in this world.
Dax—the heir to Firgaard’s throne—was responsible for the accident. Roa swore to hate him forever. But eight years later he came begging for her help, determined to dethrone his father under whose oppressive reign Roa’s people suffered.
Roa made Dax a deal: She’d give him the army he needed if he made her queen. Because only as queen could she save her people from Firgaard’s oppressive rule. Together, they won the war. But now Dax is proving to be an untrustworthy king, and Roa is struggling to stay alive in Firgaard's court as she thwarts her husband’s treacherous politics.
Soon, an opportunity arises to vanquish this enemy king and rescue her beloved sister. During the Relinquishing, when the spirits of the dead are said to return, Roa will have one chance to reclaim her sister for good.
All she has to do is kill the king.
