It's Live!! Cover Reveal: The Border by Steve Schafer + Giveaway (US/Canada)

Hi, YABCers!

Today we're excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THE BORDER by Steve Schafer, releasing September 5, 2017, from Sourcebooks Fire. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Steve:

Hi YABC! I’m thrilled with the cover for my debut novel, THE BORDER, and I’m even more thrilled to be able to share it with you! I take zero credit for this. Writing? I can do that. All other artsy stuff? I got nada. Zip. Nothing. So, huge props go to Sourcebooks for creating a cover image that I find so simple, but suggests so much. I hope you agree! Many more contests and other sneak previews to come…”

About the Book

One moment changed their lives forever.

A band plays, glasses clink, and four teens sneak into the Mexican desert, the hum of celebration receding behind them.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

Not fireworks―gunshots. The music stops. And Pato, Arbo, Marcos, and Gladys are powerless as the lives they once knew are taken from them.

Then they are seen by the gunmen. They run. Except they have nowhere to go. The narcos responsible for their families' murders have put out a reward for the teens' capture. Staying in Mexico is certain death, but attempting to cross the border through an unforgiving desert may be as deadly as the secrets they are trying to escape...

This book sounds so interesting because this is something that happens every day whether people like to awknowledge that or not. The cover I think shows a good reflection of what it's truly like for people to go through this struggle on a daily basis just to survive.

This sounds like a really interesting and powerful read, and that cover says a lot - can't wait to read it.
