It's Live!! Cover Reveal: #MurderTrending by Gretchen McNeil + Giveaway (US/Canada Only)

Hi, YABCers!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for #MURDERTRENDING by Gretchen McNeil, releasing August 7, 2018 from Disney Freeform. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Gretchen:

When you write a comedy horror novel about serial killers and decapitations, you stress about how your cover will turn out.

I’m Gretchen McNeil.  I’ve written a lot of books about serial killers.  So I speak from experience.

Needless to say, the idea of a cover for #MurderTrending kept me up at night, brain spinning an endless miasma of anxiety: “How could they possibly capture the humor and horror of this novel in a single image?  Do I actually want them to capture the humor and horror of this novel in a single image?  Why do I think so highly of myself that I assume no one can capture the humor and horror of this novel in a single image?”

Rinse, repeat.

Then one day, I received an email from the fabulous Disney Freeform design team.  And I danced the dance of a million joys.  (Which looks a lot like the Cabbage Patch mixed with the Safety Dance…don’t try it without supervision.)

Because if it was possible to capture the humor and horror of #MurderTrending in a single image, THIS IS THAT IMAGE.  And I could not love it more.

~Gretchen

About the Book

WELCOME  TO  THE  NEAR  FUTURE,  where good and honest 8/18 citizens can enjoy watching the executions of society’s most infamous convicted felons, streaming live on The Postman app from the suburbanized prison island Alcatraz 2.0.

When eighteen-year-old Dee Guerrera wakes up in a haze, lying on the ground of a dimly lit warehouse, she realizes she’s about to be the next victim of the app. Knowing hardened criminals are getting a taste of their own medicine in this place is one thing, but Dee refuses to roll over and die for a heinous crime she didn’t commit. Can Dee and her newly  formed  posse,  the  Death  Row  Breakfast  Club,  prove  she’s  innocent before she ends up wrongfully murdered for the world to see? Or will The Postman’s cast of executioners kill them off one by one?

This cover is so suck you in and never let you go. And from the sounds of the synopsis, it think that's exactly what will happen when you read this book.
