It's Live!! Cover Reveal: Inkmistress by Audrey Coulthurst + Giveaway (Intl)

Inkmistress_JKT-final-header

Hi, YABCers!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for INKMISTRESS by Audrey Coulthurst, releasing March 6, 2018 from Balzer + Bray. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Audrey:

Hi YABC readers! Welcome to the exclusive cover reveal for my second book, INKMISTRESS! Given that I often joked this book should be titled OF BISEXUALITY AND BLOODSHED, the team at Balzer + Bray could not have done a more fantastic job with the artwork and design. INKMISTRESS is a prequel of sorts to OF FIRE AND STARS, and takes place in a different kingdom with a new cast of characters. I can't wait to see what you all think of the cover and Asra's story. Don't forget to enter the ARC giveaway below if you'd like to read INKMISTRESS early!

About the Book

Asra is a demigod with a dangerous gift: the ability to dictate the future by writing with her blood. To keep her power secret, she leads a quiet life as a healer on a remote mountain, content to help the people in her care and spend time with Ina, the mortal girl she loves.

But Asra’s peaceful life is upended when bandits threaten Ina’s village and the king does nothing to help. Desperate to protect her people, Ina begs Asra for assistance in finding her manifest—the animal she’ll be able to change into as her rite of passage to adulthood. Asra uses her blood magic to help Ina, but her spell goes horribly wrong and the bandits destroy the village, killing Ina’s family.

Unaware that Asra is at fault, Ina swears revenge on the king and takes a savage dragon as her manifest. To stop her, Asra must embark on a journey across the kingdom, becoming a player in lethal games of power among assassins, gods, and even the king himself. Most frightening of all, she discovers the dark secrets of her own mysterious history—and the terrible, powerful legacy she carries in her blood.

A sweeping and romantic fantasy full of dangerous magic and dark choices—from the author of Of Fire and Stars.

The cover is really beautiful with the red symbolizing the blood in the story. The synopsis sounds action packed and imaginative.

The cover is breathtaking and the colors are perfect. I think this will be an exciting and unique book to read.

The synopsis sounds very promising. I love to read novels, in which the love does not depend on someone's gender but rather on someone's personality. That this happens to be a fantasy novel is an added bonus for me! I read the author's other book, and liked the style and plot very much.

The cover, even though red is not my favourite colour, makes you want to read the backside of the book at the least. I am curious how it looks like when I have a copy in my hand.
