It's Live!! Cover Reveal: Incognita by Kristen Lippert-Martin + Giveaway (US/Canada)

Hi, YABCers!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for INCOGNITA by Kristen Lippert-Martin, releasing October 1, 2016 from Lerner. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Kristen:

Hey, guys,

At long last I can show you the cover for INCOGNITA, the sequel to TABULA RASA. Fair warning: you might want to put on a pair of oven mitts before picking it up this coming fall!
(You'll see what I mean soon enough. No scrolling yet!)
Like its predecessor, this book has a Latin title. Tabula rasa, meaning "blank slate," referred to the memory erasure procedure Sarah undergoes in book one. It's a term most often associated with making a positive change -- starting over, putting the past behind you. For the sequel, I chose the word incognita, which simply means "unknown," because I wanted to explore the idea of how healing requires you to face up to and accept the unknown as a normal part of life. To learn to live with uncertainty about the future and be confident you can handle whatever comes along because you've been through so much already. This is something that's especially hard for anyone who's lived through a traumatic experience.
INCOGNITA is still very much a thriller, and I think its setting -- New York City -- really enhances that pulse-pounding quality. There are some new characters and new mysteries for Sarah to confront -- and of course, some new butts to kick. I'm really happy with the way the cover art communicates so much of Sarah's action-packed struggle
(OK, NOW you can scroll down.)

About the Book

In the wake of an experimental procedure that almost wiped out her memory forever, Angel has a chance for a fresh start. She’s recovered most of her memories, rebuilt her physical strength, and reunited with her boyfriend, Thomas. But her Velocius abilities—capacities for superhuman mental power—linger in her brain and put her life in jeopardy. And just when Angel is starting to feel comfortable with her new life, Thomas is kidnapped.

Someone is trying to track down secret data about the memory-altering program Angel escaped—and they mistakenly believe Thomas has that data. To save Thomas, Angel must find the missing information. But to recover it, she may need to access long-buried memories—or tap into her dangerous Velocius abilities. With Thomas’s life and perhaps her own in danger, Angel races to unravel a new layer of the mystery surrounding her past and stay one step ahead of her enemies.

About the Author

As a kid, Kristen Lippert-Martin would (mentally) rewrite the endings to T.V. shows and books when she didn’t like how they came out. In time, writing went from being a way to daydream to being a secret passion. It wasn't until she became an adult that it transformed into a necessity. She likes to write stories about people who are secretly awesome and just need to find the right circumstances—often difficult—to discover themselves.

She lives in Arlington, Virginia, with her husband and four children. Visit her online at www.kristenlippertmartin.com and follow her on Twitter @KLipMart

Yeah! I love this cover! The tattoo is awesome :-) I really quite enjoyed the first book and I'm eager to see how the story progresses! It's awesome that the prize comes with a copy of TABULA RASA, because it's been so long since I've read it I'm definitely going to need a re-read!

The cover is very cool! I have not read Tabula Rasa yet. The synopsis for this makes me want to read that one first so I can be set for this second book.
