Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for EARTH TO SKYE by Diane Sherry Case, releasing December 2017 from Elm Grove Publishing. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Diane:
Hi everyone at YABC! I’m so excited about my second cover by collage artist Lou Beach, who also created an award winning cover for my novel Elephant Milk. When Earth to Skye garnered a medal last month from the Next Generation Indies, and the publisher wanted to put the gold medallion on the cover, I almost didn’t want to - as I didn’t want to deface the image - even with an award! Hope you enjoy the book as much as the readers did at the Indie Awards!

EARTH TO SKYE
At sixteen, Liv and Skye, who have been best friends since pre-school, are trying to make the leap from “Hello Kitty” to lace thong underwear. Skye is incredibly talented and beautiful, but into everything she can find in her mother’s medicine cabinet. Her parents don’t seem to care what she does. Her mother is an ex-model who parties all the time, and her dad still travels with his punk-rock band, leaving Skye to look after her two little sisters – when she’s not hanging around with her bad-influence boyfriend. Meanwhile, Liv’s parents are feeling their way through a recent divorce, but everyone seems to be doing OK with it.
Then one day, all Liv has left is Skye’s journal – her thoughts, frustrations, hopes and fears, her colorful drawings – and a lot of anger. When Liv joins her filmmaker mom on a treacherous trek across The Himalaya (as she tapes the charity work of a clever Tibetan monk). she takes Skye’s journal with her to read when no one else is around. Liv has so many unanswered questions about Skye’s death - will the journal give her the knowledge she needs to be able to let go?
Earth to Skye is an excellent read for those seeking to encounter a world of friendship, loss, love and adventure, as Liv struggles with such hard questions as “What are we doing on this earth and why?” and seeks to understand nothing less than the meaning of life itself.
