About the Book
Rafe Khatchadorian has enough problems at home without throwing his first year of middle school into the mix. Luckily, he’s got an ace plan for the best year ever, if only he can pull it off: With his best friend Leonardo the Silent awarding him points, Rafe tries to break every rule in his school’s oppressive Code of Conduct. Chewing gum in class-5,000 points! Running in the hallway-10,000 points! Pulling the fire alarm-50,000 points! But when Rafe’s game starts to catch up with him, he’ll have to decide if winning is all that matters, or if he’s finally ready to face the rules, bullies, and truths he’s been avoiding.
Film Synopsis
Rafe has an epic imagination…and a slight problem with authority. Both collide when he transfers to an oppressive, rule-crazy middle school. Drowning in do’s and don’ts, Rafe and his scheming best friend Leo hatch a plan to break every rule in the school’s Code of Conduct. It’s Ferris Bueller meets Home Alone as their battle with Principal Dwight explodes into chaos both real and imagined. But Dwight displays his own fiendish creativity, striking back at the rulebreakers. Meanwhile, Rafe struggles to hide his misbehavior from Jeanne, the straight-A, overachieving girl of his dreams, and at home, his mother’s boyfriend — a moochy, jack-of-no-trades named Bear — threatens to become his stepfather.

I saw the previews for this movie, and it looks like something that middle schoolers will really enjoy.
The cover has the popular illustrated look, and I like the title.
Sounds like this book is rife with jokes and experiences that other people can relate to.
I agree with Dianna that middle grade readers will surely enjoy this book, but perhaps young adults and, even those young at heart, would also find this story entertaining.
The cover reminds me of one of those popular Disney or Nickelodeon television series.
I adore the illustrations on the cover. The synopsis mentions my favorite movie–Ferris Bueller. I also laughed my way through Home Alone movies so this book will be a fun read.
I think the cover is relatable, and amusing, and the synopsis sounds entangled and funny :).
Cool , not entangled ,sorry
This sounds like such a fun book! Middle school was a fun time to be honest. I can’t wait to read this and see how he changes.
I like the cover and the synopsis. I am interested to read about these characters and everything they get into.
The cover definitely pulls me right into middle school (the horror!).
