Vampire Story with an Aladdin-like Feel

THE VAMPIRE WISH has it all. There are witches, shifters, humans, vampires, and even someone that resembles a genie. The story opens up with Annika. When her family is killed, she is taken to the Vale to be a blood slave for the vampires, but to me, it isn't the traditional sense of one. I love that they live in their own town and "donate" blood once a month. But, just like everyone else in the Vale, Annika dreams of getting her freedom back.

Enter Jacen. He too is a prisoner, but is one of the vampires. When he escapes to the Vale to reminisce on what it was like being human on Christmas Eve, he meets Annika. There's an instant need to get to know her, but she can't learn of what he is. He should know secrets can only remain hidden for so long.

I loved everything about this story. I loved the characters and how Jacen and Annika are drawn to each other. We don't find out why in this one, but I'm eager to continue reading this series to discover the reason. The best thing was the Aladdin-like feel it gave me at some parts, which happens to be one of my favorite stories.


Final Verdict: I give this book a solid five stars and would recommend it to fans of paranormal romance, vampires, Twilight, and Aladdin. This was a great read.
