About This Book:

TWILIGHT MEETS ALADDIN in this hot new fantasy series by USA Today bestselling author Michelle Madow! He’s a vampire prince. She’s a human blood slave. They should be enemies… but uniting might be their only hope to prevent a supernatural war. Annika never thought of herself as weak—until the day vampires murdered her parents and kidnapped her from our world to the hidden vampire kingdom of the Vale. As a brand new blood slave, Annika must learn to survive her dangerous new circumstances… or face imminent death from the monstrous wolves prowling outside the Vale’s enchanted walls. But not all in the kingdom is as it appears, and when a handsome vampire disguised as a human steps into her life, Annika discovers that falling for the enemy is sometimes too tempting to resist. Especially when becoming a vampire might be her only chance to gain the strength she needs to escape the Vale. Enter the magical world of the Vale in The Vampire Wish, the first book in an addictive new series that fans of The Vampire Diaries and A Shade of Vampire will love!

Vampire Story with an Aladdin-like Feel

THE VAMPIRE WISH has it all. There are witches, shifters, humans, vampires, and even someone that resembles a genie. The story opens up with Annika. When her family is killed, she is taken to the Vale to be a blood slave for the vampires, but to me, it isn't the traditional sense of one. I love that they live in their own town and "donate" blood once a month. But, just like everyone else in the Vale, Annika dreams of getting her freedom back.

Enter Jacen. He too is a prisoner, but is one of the vampires. When he escapes to the Vale to reminisce on what it was like being human on Christmas Eve, he meets Annika. There's an instant need to get to know her, but she can't learn of what he is. He should know secrets can only remain hidden for so long.

I loved everything about this story. I loved the characters and how Jacen and Annika are drawn to each other. We don't find out why in this one, but I'm eager to continue reading this series to discover the reason. The best thing was the Aladdin-like feel it gave me at some parts, which happens to be one of my favorite stories.

Final Verdict: I give this book a solid five stars and would recommend it to fans of paranormal romance, vampires, Twilight, and Aladdin. This was a great read.
