When I first saw the cover for Trisha Leigh’s first novel, Whispers in Autumn, I thought it was GORGEOUS. The colors, the design — I was so excited for her. Then when the cover for the second book, Winter Omens, came out, I was floored that the covers FIT together like puzzle pieces. I’m thrilled to “finish the puzzle” on YABC by revealing the final cover in THE LAST YEAR Series below.

But first, a word from Trisha!

Hi YABC readers!! I’m thrilled to share the experience of revealing my very last cover in THE LAST YEAR with you! It’s been a wonderful, emotional experience. The journey began in Whispers in Autumn last July, and sometimes it felt like I would never get here, but here we are!

All four covers were brilliantly designed by Nathalia Suellen (Lady Symphonia on the web and DevantArt), and each beautifully represents both a season and a character—if you haven’t read, you’ll have to in order to figure out what that means! They also form puzzle pieces and fit together to create Althea’s face, which I love. Her face and the idea. 😉

There’s more about the book and the series below. Happy reading!

Here it is! SUMMER RUINS by Trisha Leigh!

SummerCover2

A final battle for the survival of Earth is coming.
Between the alien Others and the destruction of humanity stand four Dissidents.

When the Prime Other banishes them to the Harvest Site to live the remainder of their time on earth as slaves, the Dissidents use the opportunity to learn more about the substance that keeps the Others alive…and how they might use it to their advantage. But the Others guard their secrets well, and the Prime Other has proven his willingness to do whatever’s necessary to secure a future for his race, no matter what or who is destroyed in the process.

When Althea and the boys realize their lives could be the key to allowing another planet to suffer the same fate as earth, they promise they’ll die before they let that happen. If they can’t figure out how to turn the tables in their favor before the Summer Celebration, they might have to do just that.

The end draws near, and there’s only one question left—are the Dissidents going to save their chosen people or perish alongside them?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Now check out all four covers together:

These are some of the best covers ever! I love that they it together, and I love that they’re all themed. One of the things I’ve been noticing (and disliking) lately is that traditionally published novels get cover changes a lot! (WHY do they do this?) They’ll start with one design and then change it as the sequels come out. I like all my books in a series to have the same look.

Sorry, this turned into a ramble. Basically, these covers are professional and gorgeous. 🙂
