We were thrilled to host the cover reveal of CJ Redwine’s DEFIANCE last year, and now we’re thrilled to bring you the cover of the sequel, DECEPTION. But before we get to the goods, here’s a message from CJ:

I’m so excited to reveal the cover for DECEPTION, the sequel to DEFIANCE. It’s fierce, poignant, and just plain awesome. The design team at Harper Collins knocked it out of the park. I didn’t think they could out-do the cover they gave to DEFIANCE, but they did! Without further ado, I give you the amazing cover for DECEPTION.

I didn’t think they could out-do the first cover either, but this is WOWZA pretty. I love how Defiance had a dark purple hue to it, and this one has a dark blue. Great contrast for the series, but they fit together so well. Now I can’t wait to see which color they go with for the final book in the trilogy.
And now for the synopsis you guys have been dying to read:
Baalboden has been ravaged. The brutal Commander’s whereabouts are unknown. And Rachel, grief stricken over her father’s death, needs Logan more than ever. I really like it, here she stands stronger than in the first one. Also the sky in this cover that can represent her path is clearing of will close again and the way her skirt combines with the villages below, I missed it the first time.

Oh my. This cover definitely fits with the ongoing theme. I can feel the exact same compulsion to read this book as I felt with the last. I hope though that this second book doesn’t suffer from the dreaded second book syndrome. So very pretty it would be a shame.

I think it’s great. I’m so glad it goes with the cover for Defiance too.
I like the crisp, cleanness of the cover and the rich hues used. That the background sets the tone without distracting from the obvious center of focus is great. This cover does a good job grabbing my attention while reflecting the mood of this installation in the series and providing a necessary continuity from the first cover without feeling recycled.
I absolutely adore the cover! I have it pre ordered on my kindle app, but I’ll probably just end up getting the paperback to keep company the Defiance paperback!
