Meet Crystal Frost: The Complete Series!

At age fifteen, Crystal Frost discovers she can see into the future, witness the past, and speak with the dead. Secrets begin to uncover themselves wherever she goes, but secrets can be dangerous. The lives of a classmate, a child, a stranger, and Crystal herself hang in the balance. If she doesn't embrace her psychic abilities and follow her instinct, she's not the only one who will get hurt.

YABC:  What gave you the inspiration to write this book?

I started writing the Crystal Frost series as part of National Novel Writing Month back in November, 2013. I began with the idea of a teen psychic because those were the types of books and TV shows I liked, and the story evolved from there.

YABC:   Who is your favorite character in the book?

Crystal (the heroine) has to be my favorite character. I really got to know her throughout the series, and of all my characters, she feels the most real to me.

YABC:  Which came first, the title or the novel?

The novel. The series name came with the main character, but I ended up renaming her after writing the first few chapters. I didn't give the first book a name until after I'd finished the first draft.

YABC:  What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why?

I'm proud of the ending in the last book because it brings back all the important characters from earlier in the series.

YABC:  Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you've learned as a writer from then to now?

The most important thing I've learned is to not compare yourself to other writers. We are all at different points in our writing, and we all have different goals. Focus on your own goals and strengths.

YABC:  What do you like most about the cover of the book?

I love the colors on my series covers.

YABC:  What’s up next for you?

I'm currently working on finalizing a YA trilogy about angels and demons that will be launching in early 2018.

YABC:  Which part of the writing process do you enjoy more: Drafting or Revising?

Revising. I have to get myself into a certain mindset when writing the first draft, and I do it best by writing as often as possible so everything is fresh in my mind. With revising, I can break things up a little more and take things slower.
