Meet NEXUS!

Return to the high-stakes, riveting world of The Androma Saga in this dazzling finale from #1 New York Times bestselling authors Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings.

With her crew captured and her ship a smoldering ruin, notorious mercenary Androma Racella is no longer the powerful Bloody Baroness, but a fugitive on the run. And with most of the galaxy now trapped under the mind control of the bloodthirsty Queen Nor, not even the farthest reaches of Mirabel can offer safety for the queen’s most-hated adversary.

But Andi will risk anything, even her precious freedom, to save her crew. So when she finds herself stranded with bounty hunter Dextro Arez on the unforgiving ice planet of Solera, Andi seeks out the mysterious Arachnid, the one person who seems to be fighting back against the vicious queen…and uncovers the true, devastating reason for Nor’s takeover.

Back on Andi’s home planet of Arcardius, Nor’s actions have made Mirabel vulnerable to invasion from an outside force. Now allying with her mortal enemy may be the only way for the Bloody Baroness to save the galaxy—even if that alliance demands the most wrenching sacrifice of all.

~ Author Chat ~

YABC:  What gave you the inspiration to write this book?

Sasha: Lindsay and I were tied between writing a fantasy pirate novel or a scifi pirate novel. But because we both loved scifi movies and TV shows growing up, of course scifi won over our hearts. We wanted to take that and amplify the importance of friendship in The Androma Saga!

Lindsay- We definitely just wanted to write a book together for the fun of it! Our friendship and love of scifi and fantasy inspired all of the rest. J

YABC:  Who is your favorite character in the book?

Sasha: I love the complexity of Valen, his story is so intricate and almost familiar. He is relatable but also distant, depending on what situation he is being put him. He’s a survivor who wants to belong.

Lindsay- I’m probably always going to say Andi, simply because I love characters that are flawed, and Andi is certainly very flawed…but I love characters that have redemption arcs, and she for sure does.

YABC:  Which came first, the title or the novel?

Sasha: I think the book…whatever Lindsay’s says! It’s been awhile lol!

Lindsay- the novel! The title was really hard for us to settle on! We just couldn’t figure it out for so long!

YABC:  What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why?

Sasha: Without any spoilers, I really love a certain reunion scene!

Lindsay- definitely all of Valen’s storyline! It’s very dark and unique and took a lot to figure out!

YABC:  Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you've learned as a writer from then to now?

Sasha: I learned that your craft is ever changing and evolving. What you wrote when you started is just as valid as your most recent work but it’s all about accepting your evolution and appreciating how it all began.

Lindsay- I’ve learned that I just truly love writing books, regardless of their success or their sales or their placement in stores.

YABC:  What do you like most about the cover of the book?

Sasha: I love the colors and how they relate to the vibe of the book. A lot of Nexus takes place on Solera, an ice planet, which you see reflected on the cover. We’ve been so lucky to have amazing covers to our books, both here in America and internationally as well!

Lindsay- the colors! They’re so gorgeous and I think it will really pop when it’s on the shelves. I also love the hidden details that tie in with the story as a whole.

YABC:  What are a few of your favorite books out this year?

Sasha: I LOVED The Chosen, book 1 in the Contender Series by Taran Matharu. Here is the elevator pitch for it: Throughout history, people have vanished with no explanation. A group of teenagers are about to discover why.

Lindsay- King of Scars. I’m listening to the audio version right now and I just love everything that Leigh Bardugo does. Such talent!!

YABC:  What’s up next for you?

Sasha: I am currently working on an urban folklore fantasy which I’m calling Project Red (not the official title). I’ve been working on it for two years and I cannot wait for readers to read it hopefully soon!

Lindsay- I have a book releasing in 2020 called BLOOD, METAL, BONE and I’m so excited about it—it’s basically a space western fantasy with alien horses, terrifying powers, and an outlaw girl deemed the Devil of the Deadlands.

YABC:  Is there anything that you would like to add?

Sasha: Nope!

Lindsay- no lol

YABC:  Which was the most difficult or emotional scene to narrate?

Sasha: Once again, with little spoilers, there was a death within the book that was very difficult to write because of the pain it would cause to another character. I ended up crying as I wrote it *sad face*

Lindsay- Valen, for sure. Can’t say much, but wow…what a troubled soul. I feel bad for the guy.

YABC:  Which character gave you the most trouble when writing your latest book?

Sasha: I think Andi is always hardest for me to write just because she is so different from me. Then again, writing hard characters helps make you into a better writer. It’s good to be challenged!

Lindsay- This time around it was actually Andi. Normally she comes pretty easy to me, but because this was the last book in the saga, it was just so hard to tie up her story L

YABC:  Which part of the writing process do you enjoy more: Drafting or Revising?

Sasha: I love revising mainly because that’s when the book truly starts to take form and the skeleton gets some meat!

Lindsay- revising for sure. I actually HATE drafting! It’s painful.

YABC:  What would you say is your superpower?

       Sasha: Finding cheap airline flights!

       Lindsay- napping

YABC:  Is there an organization or cause that is close to your heart?

Sasha: Bernie’s Book Bank in Illinois is one of my favorite organizations, they give books to kids in need. I love their mission.

       Lindsay- Compassion International.
